The Ashton School aims to develop good study habits and manners in its students, as well as helping them become more self-confident and motivated. We teach our students the skills they need to be able to put these aims into practice. This is achieved with an individualized system based on small-group instruction, where each pupil can feel valued, recognized and an important part of the educational community here at the Ashton School.
Since the school’s inception, we have emphasized values to our students, offering a bilingual education while maintaining our Dominican roots. We feel a bilingual education is a great asset for young adults entering into competitive job markets and is the reason the teaching system we use up to the eighth grade is based on total immersion of the English language. For high school, we are implementing the educational methodology of dual immersion English-Spanish – a program unique in the Dominican Republic. This complement is designed to strengthen the Spanish language at this level, furthering the students’ ability to develop a high level of competency in both languages successfully.
